The comments were created by Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik whereas replying to an issue on the billion dollar contend with sanctions-hit Russia.

“Government takes sovereign choices supported threat perception, operational and technological aspects to keep the armed forces in a state of readiness to meet the entire spectrum of security challenges,” he said in a written reply.

The minister was respondent an issue on whether or not countries together with the U.S. have expressed considerations on the deal and apprised India of an equivalent.

The U.S. has been maintaining that that New Delhi’s deal to acquire the deadly missile system from Russian capital can have “serious implications” on India-US defence ties.
